As part of Zero Movement’s research-driven social impact initiative, the “Re*Mind Art Research” project and Exhibition Tour transformed Bozcaada’s public spaces into platforms for artistic expression, merging cultural heritage, art history, and local traditions into a unique artistic experience.
Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Nalan Sülün, the exhibition tour provided a gathering space for local residents and artists, turning into an interactive dialogue on creative processes. Over the course of two hours, participants explored various exhibition locations in Bozcaada’s town center, examining the artworks on display and engaging with artists about their creative journeys.
The tour became more than just an exhibition walk—it evolved into a cultural journey, where Bozcaada’s history and traditions were rediscovered through the language of art.
During the tour, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Nalan Sülün elaborated on the core themes of Re*Mind—memory and reinterpretation, engaging participants in a thought-provoking discussion. She emphasized the connection between the artworks and the geography of Bozcaada, demonstrating how historical and cultural traces serve as powerful tools for artistic expression.
The project attracted significant attention from the local community, beginning at Salhane and weaving through the island’s local stories and historical atmosphere. Participants observed how artworks interacted with Bozcaada’s landscape, culminating in a final stop at the island’s port.
With its success, the Re*Mind Art Research project will continue to evolve in 2025, expanding into new research and practice-based explorations, further engaging with the island’s residents and artistic community.
