Waste management

observation | experimental | MODELıng

Zero Lab is a research domain dedicated to improving waste management and recycling processes on the island. It develops environmentally friendly projects by repurposing plastic waste and devises tangible solutions to address the island’s environmental challenges. By designing innovative products from waste materials, Zero Lab aims to enhance environmental benefits and raise public awareness. Additionally, it supports direct environmental protection efforts through waste collection activities.

Objective: To enhance waste management efficiency in Bozcaada, reduce environmental impacts, and develop new products from waste materials.

Scope: Transforming plastic waste into reusable materials and repurposing them for educational tools, urban furniture, or artistic projects. Organizing waste collection events, analyzing and improving the island’s existing waste management processes, and supporting these efforts with public awareness initiatives.

Observation: Analyzing the types, quantities, and recycling potential of waste on the island.

Experimentation: Testing recycling methods by transforming plastic and marine waste into functional and artistic projects. Developing new applications based on findings from waste collection activities.

Modeling: Using data from waste management processes to design customized environmental protection and recycling strategies tailored to the island.

“An innovative laboratory for the island’s environmental challenges.”

Contribution to Zero Movement

Zero Lab contributes to Zero Movement’s environmental protection objectives by promoting awareness through the transformation of plastic and marine waste. It develops projects that provide direct environmental benefits through waste collection activities. These initiatives not only generate concrete solutions for the island’s environmental challenges but also encourage community participation in recycling efforts.

Contribution to Bozcaada

Zero Lab helps preserve Bozcaada’s natural balance by addressing its environmental challenges through innovative projects. The transformation of plastic and marine waste benefits both the environment and the local economy. Waste collection events, recycling-focused educational programs, and awareness campaigns foster environmental consciousness among the island’s residents. In parallel, Zero Lab supports the development and implementation of Bozcaada’s waste management strategies.
