MODELıng
Zero Sky is a research domain that explores the relationship between humanity and the sky through astronomy, ancient narratives, and nature observations. By drawing inspiration from celestial observations and astronomical phenomena, it aims to develop scientific and artistic projects. While uncovering the role of the sky as a universal storyteller, it brings the legacy of Bozcaada’s ancient astronomer, Kleostratos, into contemporary discourse.
Objective: To investigate the historical, mythological, and cultural connections humanity has established with the sky and to raise awareness at the intersection of astronomy and art. Additionally, to highlight Bozcaada’s place in astronomical history through the works of Kleostratos.
Scope: Celestial observations, astronomy-based artistic projects, documentation of mythological narratives, and the transformation of scientific data into societal benefits. This also includes research on the scientific legacy of Kleostratos and educational projects related to astronomy.
Observation: Examining celestial events, star movements, and Bozcaada’s astronomical potential.
Experimentation: Developing artistic projects inspired by astronomical events and organizing activities that integrate astronomy with the public.
Modeling: Designing projects that merge scientific and artistic interpretations of celestial observations; creating methods that combine astronomical knowledge with cultural storytelling.
“The bond with the sky forms a bridge from past to future.”
Contribution to Zero Movement
Zero Sky allows Zero Movement to reinterpret the relationship between humans and nature from a celestial perspective. Observations of the sky and Kleostratos’ legacy serve as inspiration for both scientific and artistic projects. These initiatives aim to strengthen communities’ connections with nature while using astronomy as a tool for social awareness.
Contribution to Bozcaada
Zero Sky highlights Bozcaada’s significance in the history of astronomy. Projects that introduce Kleostratos’ scientific heritage enrich the island’s cultural identity. Additionally, by emphasizing mythological narratives, it enhances Bozcaada’s international visibility. Through astronomy-focused events and artistic projects, it creates opportunities for both residents and visitors to engage with the sky.
