Data-DrIven Waste Management: Wastelog Talk

Speakers: Okay Çelik, Ertuğ Sargut

As part of Zero Gathering, we organized a discussion session to raise awareness about waste management and explore the role of digitalization in making the process more efficient. For this event, we hosted Okay Çelik and Ertuğ Sargut, co-founders of Waste Log.

Held at Coffee Shelter, the session featured an in-depth discussion on how digitalization plays a crucial role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of waste management. The founders explained how the Waste Log platform provides users with convenient waste tracking solutions, highlighting the key role of digital technologies in sorting waste and making the recycling process more traceable.

Together with participants, we explored the solutions offered by digital technologies and their impact on individual and societal awareness. The session provided detailed insights into how the Waste Log app works, how users can log their waste, and how this waste progresses through the recycling process.

Additionally, participants learned about the reward mechanisms within Waste Log, such as the point system, which provides both environmental and economic benefits. The discussion also touched on Waste Log’s collaborations with other platforms and its potential impact on urban waste management.

This gathering successfully raised awareness about how digitally-supported waste management can evolve in the future and emphasized the importance of individual participation in the process.
