Performance: AlI Johannes Ulker

As part of Zero Gathering, Bozcaada-born artist Ali Johannes Ülker, who is based in Berlin, performed two live painting sessions to express his abstract journey within Bozcaada Castle through art. Both performances were held in public spaces, allowing the local community to witness the creative process.

The first performance took place on the walls of Bozcaada Castle, where the artist created his works by exploring his inner connection with the historic structure.

The second performance was held at Çınaraltı in Bozcaada’s town center, where Serkan İlik, the founder of Bozcaada Haber, accompanied the painting session with his saz (a traditional stringed instrument). Designed as a shared experience, this event offered the audience a chance to observe the fusion of art and music.

Ali Johannes Ülker’s works, shaped through his bond with Bozcaada Castle, drew significant interest from the local community. These performances aimed to reflect the artist’s personal journey and his experiences on the island.
