Culturel Studies is a research domain dedicated to documenting and analyzing Bozcaada’s history, ancient narratives, and local cultural heritage. While preserving and transmitting past stories to the present, it records the collective knowledge of the local community to develop projects that protect and sustain the island’s natural and cultural heritage. This research adopts an interdisciplinary approach to ensure the preservation and evolution of Bozcaada’s cultural identity.

Objective: To explore Bozcaada’s history, ancient narratives, and local culture, reinterpreting these values in ways that generate societal benefit.

Scope: Oral history documentation from the local community, archaeological and ethnographic research, the preservation of ancient narratives, and the transformation of these findings into artistic projects. Additionally, the development of educational programs and interactive activities to sustain cultural heritage.

Observation: Conducting an in-depth analysis of Bozcaada’s historical and cultural landscape, gathering oral histories from the local community, and examining the island’s ecological and cultural connections.

Experimentation: Testing the integration of ancient narratives and local knowledge into artistic projects, transforming them into workshops and interdisciplinary experimental studies.

Modeling: Developing strategic frameworks based on these observations to protect and sustain the island’s cultural heritage for future generations.
